The crew program made history Oct. 10-both in and out of the water.
The men’s varsity eight boat finished second in a 26-team field, while the women’s varsity eight boat came in third in a 20-team field at the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
Prior to the start of the Regatta, four of Drexel’s boats were named in honor of four men, Chuck Pennoni, Richard Greenawalt, Bob Buckley and Vince Vidas, who made significant contributions to the program in a ceremony at the Bachelor’s Barge House.

You know you’re watching a Hindi action movie when everything said in Hindi is repeated in English. So it is with Blue. “Look there,” becomes “wahan dekho”. “Museebat se nikaalenge,” becomes “we’ll get him out this message”. But Blue is not about dialogues although it does begin with a bang. “Samundar ki machli, ladki ka dil aur currency note kisi ke upar naam nahin likha hota,” says Sanjay Dutt, who is a humble fisherman (yes, believe that!) to Akhsay Kumar, who is a fabulously rich boat owner. We don’t know exactly what Akshay does for a living but we do know he wants Dutt, supposeduly the best diver in the Bahamas, to locate the Indian government’s lost treasure for him. All is revealed in good time but for the time being we are made to believe that greed is the only motive. There’s also Zayed Khan who is Dutt’s younger brother and a is a biker, which is a conveninent excuse for several explosions.

Scrushy items to go on sale:
Several of Richard Scrushy’s Lake Martin playthings will go on the auction block Monday.
The Tallapoosa County sheriff’s office will auction the contents of Scrushy’s hangar on his Lake Martin estate. Among the items up for grabs will be boats and personal watercraft. The public can inspect the items beginning at 9 a.m., with the auction set to begin at 11 a.m.

12:22 GMT, October 15, 2009 The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) has described the speed and manoeuvrability of its Austal-built 30 metre patrol boats as “impressive” following recent sea trials in Western Australia.
Ordered in 2008, half of the six-vessel fleet has already commenced a 33-day delivery voyage to Trinidad and Tobago, with the remaining three on schedule for completion at the end of the year.
