HAINES CITY – Westside Baptist Church will host its Fall Fest on Nov. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., at 1416 Polk St., Haines City.
The free event includes bounce houses, games, raffles, food and drinks. There also will be a rummage sale.
Representatives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Haines City Fire Department will be on hand. Entertainment includes Pickin’ Rick Dunaway, Lu-Lu and Tu-Tu the clowns, and the H.I.S. Puppet Team.
Non-perishable canned foods and paper products will be collected to help others in need in the community.

WINTER HAVEN – Heaven Bound Pentecostal Church meets in the conference rooms at the Howard Johnson Inn in Winter Haven.
Sunday services start at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday prayer meeting and Bible studies start at 7:30 p.m. Friday youth night starts at 7:30 p.m.
LAKE WALES – Golfview Church of God plans its homecoming and pastor appreciation Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Singing Reflectsons, a family group from Trenton, will perform. Lunch will be served following the morning service. The church is located at 300 Hibiscus Lane, Lake Wales.
WINTER HAVEN – The three congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Polk County Peace Lutheran, South Lakeland, Our Savior Lutheran, North Lakeland and Resurrection Lutheran are sponsoring a Reformation Adventure and October Fest.
The event will be held at Resurrection Lutheran, at 4620 Cypress Gardens Road, Winter Haven, at 4 p.m. Oct. 25. A festival with bratwurst, potato salad, sauerkraut and dessert will follow. There is a suggested donation of $5 ($10 per family) for tickets, which are available from the pastors of the churches.
LAKELAND – An “Introduction to Centering Prayer” workshop will be held today, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Mosswood Center for Spiritual Life, at 730 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland.
The cost for the day-long program is $35. The facilitator for the program is Robert Fasulo, a certified presenter of Centering Prayer and a member of the faculty of Contemplative Outreach. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Beverages will be provided. Registration is required.

WINTER HAVEN – Trinity United Methodist Church, at 2551 Havendale Blvd. N.W., Winter Haven, is having its annual rummage sale in the fellowship hall today, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hot dogs, sloppy Joes, coffee, and soda will be available.
WINTER HAVEN – The Christian Women’s Connection of Winter Haven invites all women to its luncheon at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club, at 4200 Country Club Road, Winter Haven.
The feature will be Specialty and Gift Basket Creations by Mag. The guest speaker, Marilyn Sitton, will talk about having everything but losing it all, including her memory.

WINTER HAVEN – Lake Shipp Baptist Church will hold a free car wash today, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Advance Auto Parts on U.S. Highway 17 in Eloise.
The people who will be washing cars will not accept any money for their services. This is an outreach program from the church to all the people in the area.
WINTER HAVEN – Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven hosts an American Heritage Girls Troop, which is a Christian Scouting Organization that started in Ohio 14 years ago.
The group meets Mondays at 6:30 p.m. The group is open to girls ages 5 to 18.
